The Japan Prize awarded to Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie.

The Japan International Prize is awarded to people whose "original and outstanding achievements in science nad technology are recognized as having advanced the frontiers of knowledge and served the cause of peace and prosperity for mankind." Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie were awarded the prize in 2011 for inventing the UNIX operating system.
